About
I am actor Eom Tae-in, with broad experience ranging from film to the stage. I have built trust through grounded performances, portraying a variety of characters in films such as <How Are You These Days?> and <Please Take Good Care of Me!>. Drawing on my experience as a PD and script supervisor, as well as my award-winning work in screenwriting and directing, I have a strong understanding of the set and can also perform naturally in the Gyeongsangbuk-do dialect. Since 2022, I have continued creating studies while personally learning cinematography and directing. Through this process, I have undergone several important changes as an actor. First, I have developed a deeper understanding of how the tone of a performance must vary according to the medium and casting ensemble. I have come to experience more clearly that even with the same emotion and the same scene, the way it is expressed—and its density—must change depending on whether it is film or theater, the shooting environment, the scene partner, and the overall texture of the work. Second, by personally experiencing the perspectives of directors and crew, I have learned anew how to conduct myself on set. An individual actor’s expression is important, but I believe a set is ultimately a collaborative endeavor completed by many people together. That is why I value precision, communication, rhythm, and an attitude of creating together on set. Third, my perspective on and vocabulary for viewing works and performances have broadened. I now look at characters, scenes, and the work as a whole with a longer view than before, and I understand acting not simply as an outpouring of emotion, but as a rhythm that functions and comes alive within the work. Another thing I consider important is the actor’s inner self. I believe that, paradoxically, the more deeply and freely an actor wishes to meet and immerse themselves in a character, the more firmly grounded their own inner self must be in reality. This was ultimately what I learned through novels and various creative projects. I believe a stable inner self and aligned attitude do not limit acting; rather, they provide greater freedom within restricted circumstances and agreed-upon conditions. Having passed through this process, I have gained more ease and comfort than before, and now feel ready to meet and explore characters from a broader and more stable place. Above all, I will approach every set with a responsible attitude, never forgetting that everyone involved in a work is creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience together. I look forward to working with you.
