About
Hello. My name is Rena Kim, and I naturally fit bright, cheerful, and supportive best-friend roles. With a “girl-next-door” or “candy-like” image, I am well suited for characters who remain optimistic and overcome adversity. Personally, however, I have a lot of intensity beneath the surface, which allows me to convincingly portray characters experiencing frustration, injustice, or anger. Without makeup and with a serious expression, I have often been told that I appear intimidating, intelligent, or even as someone who smiles on the outside while hiding a knife inside. Rather than playing a strict, authoritative boss, I believe I am especially well suited for sly, deceptive, or backstabbing characters. Although I am not very tall, my broad, rounded forehead gives me a look that complements traditional Korean hanbok particularly well. Outside of acting, I have worked as a high school teacher, office employee, kitchen staff at a snack restaurant, café barista, kids’ café staff, warehouse worker, and assistant director (AD) at a television broadcasting station. If a role requires experience in any of these fields, I can portray it with confidence. In addition, I have experience working as a crew member on short film productions, which enables me to communicate smoothly and collaborate effectively on set.
