Hello. My name is Hyoeun Kim, and I am a member of the Class of 2026 in the Acting Arts Department at Seoul Hoseo College of Arts. For a long time, I have been asking myself one question: What is acting? I used to have a hard time expressing my true feelings in front of other people. Instead, I kept my emotions to myself. At one point, I thought that was what acting meant. But as time passed, I realized something important. What I truly wanted was not to hide my emotions, but to express them honestly. I am someone who genuinely loves people and wants to understand them. I am deeply sensitive, and I constantly reflect on myself while trying to understand the hearts of others. Through this process, I came to believe that the most important quality an actor can have is self-reflection. Only when we can look at ourselves objectively and accept both our emotions and our limitations can we truly understand the lives of others with sincerity. To me, acting is not about pretending or making myself look perfect. It is a journey of facing the emotions I have kept inside, accepting my weaknesses, and growing as a person. As an actor, I will continue to learn from the people I meet, reflect on myself, and strive to deliver genuine emotions and sincere performances. Thank you.
