Hello. I’m Choi Yeonseo—slightly strange, and therefore memorable. Sometimes I get confused about whether my mind is a music studio, a movie set, or just a computer experiencing an error. I sit down to play a melody, but a scene comes to mind first, and when I try to write lyrics, colors come to me first. So I’m always creating things with the order slightly mixed up. Strangely enough, that feels more like me. I played keyboard in my school band for a year. From the outside, I may look like someone who simply plays the keyboard, but inside, I’m constantly calculating, “Who is the protagonist of this song, and what temperature is the emotion at right now?” Playing without mistakes is the basic requirement, but I believed my role was to layer emotion on top of that. Since I can have conversations freely in English, I don’t just listen to foreign music— I enjoy imagining what the people who made it might have been thinking. I love the process of understanding, absorbing, twisting it in my own way, and bringing it back out. I draw, write, and create lyrics. Things that don’t seem particularly connected come together as a single scene inside me. That’s why I work through “feeling” rather than genre. To be honest, I’m still not a fully organized person. But I think that means I have even more potential. I don’t know where I’ll leap next or what color will come out, but I’m confident I won’t be predictable. To some people, I may be difficult to understand, but I want to be someone new to someone else. Thank you.
