Hi, my name is Sawyer I've built a life as a creator, a shopping mall model, an art film model, a band vocalist, and a tattoo artist. Now I'm ready to add one more: actor. Each of these paths came from the same driving force a desire to show who I am. My emotions, my aesthetic, my very existence as a person. I've spent my life searching for the best way to express that, and every role I've taken on has been part of that search. Before any of this, I was a programmer. I spent three years in a stable position, but somewhere along the way I became more interested in the person outside the screen than the code on it. At 29, I made the decision to leave. It was less about walking away from something and more about walking toward everything I hadn't yet tried. Over two years I grew a YouTube channel to 10,000 subscribers and 3 million views. I modeled for the online store I founded and ran myself, and later took on an art film role through an external commission. During university, I fronted a band for a year and performed on stage twice. For the past four months I've been working as a tattoo artist, a practice I intend to keep building on as I eventually take my work abroad. Through tattooing, I've had the chance to sit with clients from all over the world, each carrying a different story and a different way of seeing life. The same has been true of the international friendships I've built over the years. Spending time with people who approach the same experiences from completely different angles made me aware of how much of the world I had yet to consider. One conversation that has stayed with me was with a French friend, who told me that in France, turning 30 is not a deadline but a milestone worth celebrating. The age when you become a true adult and, at the same time, are free to begin absolutely anything. In Korea, 30 often carries the weight of expectation and closure. Hearing it framed as an opening changed something in my thinking. It became one more reason to believe that now is exactly the right time to try something new. Every experience I've had has given me something different, but the one thing that has carried through all of them is a deeper understanding of people. At a certain point I realized that truly knowing myself requires more than self-expression. It requires meeting people, working alongside them, understanding them, and at times, becoming someone else entirely. That realization led me to acting. When I watch a performance that moves me, I find myself closely observing the actor's expressions, their timing, the choices the director made. There are scenes I catch myself instinctively recreating. I believe acting is one of the most powerful ways to experience the full range of human emotion and to genuinely understand characters unlike myself. I'm aware that this is something I could pursue later. But if I know I'm going to do it eventually, there's no good reason to wait when the opportunity is already here.
