When I was very young, I read a storybook and developed the somewhat simple dream of “becoming a kind and admirable person and creating a beautiful world.” As time passed, I began reflecting on myself, although I do not know exactly what prompted it, and came to believe that this dream of becoming a better person—and the self-reflection it inspired—held great value. Of course, studying and learning specialized information in each field is important. However, for a long time I have tried to think deeply about, reflect on, and put into practice intangible values that are invisible and abstract, yet that I dare to believe are truly important: people’s inner worlds, relationships between people, values, and, beyond human matters, what may one day be God’s will. The person saying all this has, paradoxically, been deeply lacking and has not lived perfectly. Despite reflecting often, I stumbled many times, and at one point I fell particularly hard, becoming discouraged for quite a long time and even trying to give up on life while wrestling with negative thoughts. But because I have not lived perfectly, I resolved to become a more upright and compassionate person, and to pursue not only professional success but also the many miracles I envision for myself as a human being and for the beautiful world I dream of. With that resolve, I stood up again. I am still far from perfect, but beyond my dream of becoming an actor, I want to live as a sincere person, believing that there may be good values and miracles I cannot yet imagine. I also believe that my thoughts about these abstract matters will positively influence and strengthen my acting. I am not trying to become a good person simply for the sake of acting, but from now on, before becoming a good actor, I want to become a good person. There is so much more I would like to share, but I also believe that if we live our lives well, our positive influence will naturally reach others, without our having to strive to prove our worth.
