1. Background My dream was to become a dance teacher. After graduating from a dance department and obtaining relevant certifications, I led classes. I then enrolled in a graduate school of education to develop my expertise in education. However, the obstacle that stood in the way of my dream was my voice. When teaching classes, serving as class representative, giving presentations, and hosting department events, my voice lacked projection. To improve my projection, I began taking voice training at an academy. I applied what I learned to my classes. Before I knew it, I found that my delivery had improved and my confidence had grown. As my voice gained strength, I naturally became interested in working as an announcer. Now, rather than speaking to students in a classroom, I want to deliver messages to viewers. Drawing on the trustworthiness I developed while preparing to become a teacher, I want to confidently convey the voice that was once my obstacle. 2. Motivation and Aspirations ＜A Message of Peace Shouted from Pyeongchang＞ My face has appeared on broadcasts around the world. I had the experience of participating as a dancer in the opening ceremony of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics. More than 2,000 people worked together as one team, conveying a message of peace to the world through art. The emotion of sharing Korea’s message of peace remains a great asset to me. The heat and atmosphere of the venue, along with vivid moments capturing me and the event, were broadcast around the world through an announcer’s words. I saw my image onstage being conveyed to the world through the announcer’s voice. In that moment, I dreamed of becoming someone who could convey the meaning of events as they happened. An announcer’s job is to share the emotion of the现场 with viewers. Now, rather than the world stage, I want to deliver the everyday lives of local communities and the stories of their people from the closest possible perspective. Personality, Strengths and Weaknesses, and Interpersonal Style ＜The Balance I Lost in the Face of Responsibility＞ I manage relationships based on trust. As a teaching assistant, I connected professors with academic administration, and as a team leader, I connected headquarters with employees, learning the value of communication. When I recommended an employee with an excellent work ethic to headquarters, they trusted my judgment and hired that person as a full-time employee. However, I feel uncomfortable burdening others, even with work-related matters. Because I have a strong sense of responsibility, I once took on every task alone without delegating and collapsed from overwork. This experience taught me the importance and value of collaboration. I learned that communication and teamwork enable more efficient work. As a result, I was able to work more efficiently while protecting both my health and the quality of my work. 4. Individuality, Abilities, and Characteristics That Distinguish Me from Others I used to stutter a great deal. Although I loved giving presentations as a child, I once was excluded from a presentation because I was not good at speaking. From then on, I admired people who spoke well and began moving toward my dream of becoming an announcer. Once, I attended a recording of a comedy program. Wanting to be interviewed, I raised my hand, but lowered it the moment I made eye contact with the stage. From that moment on, announcers, hosts, and interviewers all seemed remarkable to me. After that experience, I began practicing speaking with the mindset that I should not avoid it. In graduate school, I served as class representative, hosted events, and gave presentations, while also teaching students and learning how to convey ideas through my voice. Through training in pronunciation correction, vocal delivery, and conveying meaning, I built confidence in my voice. During this process, I learned that speech is not merely a skill, but a power that enables us to share and connect with others. Now I can express myself naturally in front of a microphone. 5. Past and Present Efforts for Self-Development, Including Successes and Failures I call myself a “reserve” in life. Because I was not perfect, I had to work harder than others. I was always in second place and always someone’s backup. I received a reserve number in the university entrance process and was eventually admitted, but in the transfer examination I remained on the reserve list. However, instead of dwelling on my sadness, I immediately began preparing for graduate school entrance exams. Once again, I received a reserve number and was eventually admitted. A year after I entered graduate school, the friend who had passed the transfer examination instead of me became my junior. In the past, I struggled with the feeling that my abilities had not been recognized. But seeing that I was one year ahead taught me that everyone has their own timing and that not giving up is what matters. Looking back, being placed on a reserve list did not stop me; it led me toward opportunities for growth. I also experienced the fulfillment of creating completeness when I was not yet complete. Through this unwavering effort, I have continued to prove my potential. I will continue to show growth in every moment. 6. School Club Activities, Social Organization Activities, and Other Special Experiences ＜The Youngest, Fastest Promotion＞ “Little lady, did you come with your dad?” That is what I heard at a construction site where I was the person in charge. Despite my youthful appearance, I have strong work-processing abilities. I started as a part-time employee at a fitness center, was selected as a branch manager after just three months, and then became a team leader at headquarters. I worked as a leader overseeing 10 branches and approximately 100 employees. From construction sites to store management and accounting, I handled issues directly and learned how to adapt and communicate quickly in any situation. In this way, I have the strength to quietly produce results despite my appearance. With the determination and toughness I developed in the workplace, I am confident that I can remain steady and perform as an announcer. 7. Experience, Work Performance, and Competencies in the Relevant Field ＜Delivery and Responsiveness Forged in the Field＞ Through my work as a fitness instructor, teaching assistant, and team leader, I have developed two core announcer competencies: delivery and situational response. As a fitness instructor, I helped deliver accurate information every day to a diverse group of people. To support understanding in class, I used my vocal tone, speaking pace, and gestures to communicate necessary information precisely. This process naturally became an opportunity to learn the art of delivery. I also steadily developed the ability to continue a class without interrupting its flow, even when unexpected situations arose. As a fitness center team leader, I supervised operations and developed skills in problem-solving and emergency response. Once, several unexpected accidents occurred in succession. I communicated directly with the member, eased their anxiety, and promptly took the necessary measures for the situation. Although it was early morning, I accompanied them to the emergency room and assisted with their treatment; an early response brought the situation to a swift resolution. Through experiences like this, I developed the ability to respond to and resolve unexpected situations without being emotionally shaken. I possess both strong delivery and situational-response skills. Based on these abilities, I can accurately deliver the information viewers need. I will become an announcer who conveys accurate and trustworthy information.
