Hello. I’m actor Cha Seon-ho, the kind of actor who leaves a lasting impression the more you watch me. I tend to look at reality realistically, but I don’t think that means I’m someone who gives up easily. There’s a saying that, in order to pursue the one thing you want to do—being an actor—you have to do 99 things you don’t want to do. I may not have reached 99, but I think I’ve done nearly 50 of them so far. While pursuing my dream of becoming an actor, I’ve experienced a wide range of projects and production sets. Since I’ve always dreamed of acting in front of the camera, I also gained diverse experience behind it, including working with directing departments and other crew members. Through that process, I learned the importance of understanding the flow of a production, teamwork, and working in sync with others. These experiences have become my unique strength as an actor who understands the set and knows how to create something together with the people around me. I like observing and understanding people. I tend to pay close attention to subtle differences in people’s words, the atmosphere, and the relationships between them. Rather than being sensitive in the sense of being easily hurt by small things, I think it is closer to having learned, through social life, how not to reveal my emotions. Because I often help people and look after those around me, I think I’ve gradually become accustomed to acting like a decent, dependable person. But I, too, have times when I feel exhausted and lonely. I don’t regret the life I chose, but I also clearly feel regret over the things I missed because of that choice. Even so, I don’t think I’m someone who remains in one place simply because things are difficult. When something hard happens, I ultimately tend to look for what I can do and take action. I believe that the experiences and sense of absence a person encounters throughout life ultimately shape who they become. That is why I continue to work steadily toward becoming an actor who can sincerely understand and express a character’s emotions and life. Rather than an actor who makes a strong impression from the very beginning, I want to be the kind of actor who makes people increasingly curious about who I am the more they watch me, and whose image lingers over time.
