Hello. I am Choi Seung-hwan, a 29-year-old actor. With a deep passion for acting and a fully immersed approach, I am an actor who continues to grow steadily. Acting is not merely a tool of expression for me, but a very special art that represents people’s emotions and tells the stories of their lives in their place. I was fascinated by the world of acting from an early age, and I nurtured my dream of becoming an actor by exploring the inner worlds and emotions of various characters. However, my school years were far from easy. I was bullied by friends at school and went through many difficulties, making that period an extremely painful and challenging time for me. Yet those experiences made my dream of acting even stronger. Personally experiencing how complex and profound human emotions can be became a valuable foundation for deeply understanding and expressing people’s feelings as an actor. At that time, I made a promise to myself: I wanted to become an actor who could offer comfort and empathy to people who had been hurt, just as I had. The wounds I suffered from bullying made me stronger. Through them, I learned how to empathize with people’s emotions and developed my ability to express those emotions through acting. Acting is not simply a skill or a profession to me. Acting is my life itself and the only way I communicate with the world. That is why, even when playing a small role, I delve deeply into the character’s authenticity and devote everything I have to expressing their emotions with sensitivity. Although I have not yet had many opportunities to appear in short films or on stage, I am confident that my passion and determination are greater than anyone else’s. Through my constant exploration of and training in acting, I am becoming a better actor every day, and I value even the smallest opportunity given to me and approach it with all my heart. When I act, that moment is when I feel most alive. Acting is not a choice for me; it is essential. I cannot be anything other than an actor. Acting is the reason I exist and the only path through which I can convey stories to people. By living the lives of characters through acting and conveying their emotions to audiences, I fulfill my purpose in life. I want to take on a wide range of genres and characters. In every genre—including comedy, drama, thrillers, and romance—I want to explore the emotions of each character deeply and continue expanding my acting range. My ultimate goal is also to become an actor who can give courage and hope to people going through difficult times, just as I have. At 28, there is still plenty of time for challenges and growth. Based on all the experiences and lessons I have accumulated so far, I am ready to move audiences’ hearts with sincere performances on stage and screen. Finally, if I can move even one person’s heart through a role I play, that moment will prove why I must continue living as an actor. Acting is everything to me, and I approach this path with the desperate conviction that there is no other way for me.
