My name is Lee Wang-soo. My name combines Wang (旺), meaning prosperity and vitality, with the generational character Soo (洙), and was given with the wish that I would grow strong and flexible. I am continuing to build my skills and experience to live up to that name. I am soft-spoken on the outside but strong within. Perhaps because I was born at the end of the year, around the time the excitement of the 1988 Olympics was fading in the cold winter wind, I feel a kinship with winter—somewhat solitary, yet warm and cozy at times. I prefer the comfort of the sea to the refreshing energy of the mountains.
