Hello, I am actor Kim Min-gyu. Since I began acting, I have steadily gained experience on set, moving between theater and screen productions. At first, I focused on “doing well myself,” but after working on various productions, I came to believe that acting is ultimately complete when the audience can accept and empathize with it naturally. So these days, rather than asking myself, “How well did I do?” I approach each role by thinking more about whether the character is “convincing to the audience.” As I have experienced a variety of sets, I have also realized that the environment and direction in which one works are important factors for an actor. While the experience we build on our own is meaningful, I believe it is also necessary to consider how to expand that experience. Watching senior actors at work, I was impressed by how they maintained their individual identities while continuing their careers through a wide range of productions without being confined to a particular image. Rather than staying with a single production, I too want to build experience across various sets and grow into an actor who creates increasingly convincing characters. If I have learned so far by throwing myself into challenges, from now on I want to connect those experiences within a broader environment. I am deeply interested in acting that naturally portrays realistic characters, and I am particularly skilled at creating vivid, true-to-life characters using Busan and Gyeongsang dialects. I would like to continue demonstrating these strengths through a variety of productions. Rather than trying to get too far ahead, I want to become an actor who builds a solid foundation one production at a time. I will continue growing into an actor who can earn the trust of everyone I work with on set and of the audience. Thank you.
