Hello, I’m Somyung Kang, an actor and model based in Korea. I speak Korean, English, Hindi, and Bengali, and my additional skills include country-style acoustic guitar, electric guitar, singing, portrait painting and drawing, and Taekwondo (2nd Dan). I value learning new skills quickly and preparing carefully for whatever a role requires. Thank you! Through directing, writing, cinematography, and editing short films, I have gained practical experience with cameras, production environments, and the process of building a scene. This gives me an understanding of a director’s intentions and the rhythm of a production, while helping me communicate effectively with the crew when working in front of the camera. During my military service, I spent 1 year and 6 months performing professional Korean–English and English–Korean translation and interpretation, and I also received recognition for translation support involving the U.S. Army. That experience strengthened my discipline, accuracy, communication skills, and sense of responsibility. My goal is to become a versatile actor who can adapt naturally to different characters and productions rather than being limited to a single image. Whatever the size of the role, I aim to understand what the character and story require and deliver it with focus and professionalism.
