Hello, I’m actor Hong Daehyun. I’m an actor who finds the greatest joy in understanding and analyzing people. When I read a script, I constantly ask myself, “Why would this character say this?” and “Why would they make this choice?” When the answers are not immediately clear, I endlessly imagine, “If I were this character, how would I speak and act?” I believe there is a reason behind every line, no matter how brief, so I analyze it until I can fully accept it myself. I believe that once I understand a character, I can act with the greatest freedom. People around me often tell me that when they watch my acting, “It really sounds like you’re speaking in your own words.” Rather than simply portraying a character, I want to become that person and live as them. I also consider it important to become an actor people want to work with. I always take the initiative, respect both actors and staff, and do my best to create a positive atmosphere. In the two recent broadcast network dramas I participated in, I left a positive impression on the directors and casting directors, and once again learned that a good set is ultimately built on trust between people. I believe good acting is not created alone, but together. That is why, even today, I continue to learn and grow so that I can become an actor people want to work with again. Thank you.
