We want to consider how the beliefs we accept in everyday life affect individuals’ lives and bodies. Adolescence shaped by belief is a time when one’s own body first begins to feel unfamiliar. In particular, unlike the phrase “menarche is a blessing,” a first period can be bewildering for many girls and is also something they may want to hide. Although the body has begun to change, they are not yet ready to accept it as women or as adults. This film aims to begin from that awkward moment. [Logline] Jeong-hyeon, a 13-year-old who has just gotten her first period, wants to stop menstruating before her baptism ceremony. Her friend’s mother, a witch from Eastern Europe, helps her—but at that moment, someone else’s fate becomes attached to her. [Role] Jeong-hyeon A girl who has finished sixth grade and is waiting to begin her first day of middle school. Between experiencing her first period and her mother’s religious rules, she feels confused because she does not understand her own body. She is easily influenced by what others say and, having grown up under an indifferent mother, has an obsession with solving problems on her own whenever something goes wrong. She is a child who is easily shaken by even small anxieties.
